We at the Samiti mainly invest in survivors of abuse and domestic violence providing them with the requisite skills to transform their lives. Our main aim is to equip them with the right wherewithal for their overall development and reintegration with society. Where needed we provide educational support thereby encouraging them to pursue their aspirations. In addition to this we teach vocational and practical skills thereby opening up employment opportunities to match the market standards, thus enabling them to find sustainable solutions for their problems.

Time and again we have conducted inhouse training in tailoring, cooking, paper bag and shagun(decorative gift envelopes) cover making, block print training, appliqué work, mehandi application, and diya painting.

Our outbound training in computer training, training in beauty art, Montessori training,  House Keeping, and Entrepreneurial training.

The  Karnataka State  Women’s  Development  Corporation led by  Mrs. H  Pushpalatha initiated a skill development training program in bag making for Acid attack victims from Shimoga and Davengere.  It was a three day in house program held from May 22nd to 24th at our office premises.   Mrs. Nagarathna conducted the training program. Certificates were issued to all the participants.  These programs are designed to equip them with enterprise establishment/entrepreneurship to become self-reliant

We have been running our training programs for women empowerment as a part of our Rehabilitation process at our temporary shelter home.  In the year 2024 however we launched our MDS Skill Development Program with a free three month certified course in Tailoring for the benefit of underprivileged women.

On completion of their training, employment opportunities were made available to them by our Rehabilitation Officer, who based on their skill set would connect them with prospective employers. 

Exhibitions
Exhibitions Our range of finished products – the handicraft of our residents such as yoga bags, marketing bags, cushion covers, quilts, string bags, bottle holders, table runners, napkins, floor mats, gift envelopes as well as our Gruha Udyog products such as spice and condiment powders, chutney powder and Maddur vada were displayed and sold at various exhibitions held across the city. The proceeds of these sales were used for the benefit of our residents.
